Working places:

Our clinic has a total of 20 beds, 6 of which are transplantation service beds, in which kidney transplant patients are monitored, and 14 service beds where nephrology patients are monitored. In our clinic, there is 1 interventional procedure room where ultrasonography, kidney biopsy and temporary central catheter insertion is performed.

We have two general nephrology outpatient clinics on the ground floor in B block where nephrology patients are followed, and a special branch outpatient clinic where the D block is followed on the fourth floor with Peritoneal Dialysis, Glomerulonephritis and Transplantation patients. Our B block ground floor also serves our Peritoneal Dialysis Center. Dışkapı Education Research Hasköy district Building has a 33-bed hemodialysis unit where 122 chronic hemodialysis patients are dialysed, and a 5-bed hemodialysis unit in Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt E.A.H.

 

Clinical Workflow Process:

Patient examination is started at 08:30 in polyclinics. Outpatient services are provided between 08:30 and 16:30. The examination of the patients is carried out by the attending physician. The examinations requested by the specialist doctor are made by directing the patient to the relevant units. USG and interventional procedures are performed by the attending physician. Requested examinations are evaluated by the doctor. Depending on the patient results, hospitalization, consultation and / or home follow-up are recommended. In addition, the assistant doctor is trained by the specialist doctor in this process.

The hospitalized patient is directed to the service to be placed on the hospitalization list. In the new admission, he is met by the nurse. ANTA follow-up is performed, the preliminary evaluation form is filled in and the file is edited. The examinations requested by the doctor are requested from the computer. The examinations are taken by the nurse and sent to the relevant laboratory. USG is applied to the patients deemed appropriate by the doctor by the specialist doctor. The drugs to be applied are requested by the doctor from the computer. It is taken from the pharmacy by the nurse and applied.

Patients are hospitalized in our service in the order of urgency from the emergency room and outpatient clinic. The order of hospitalization of the patients is determined by our specialist doctors by taking into consideration the urgency of the patients, their application times and their out-of-town applications.

Patients who are decided to go to the service are greeted by the doctor and nurse after being hospitalized by the secretary and taken to their beds. Appointments are made by our personnel for the required examinations.

Every morning, patients hospitalized in the service are evaluated by their doctors with a physical examination and new results. Treatment plans are revised daily. New drug plans are evaluated together with nurses.

Inspection and treatment plans are reviewed each morning, accompanied by a training supervisor and / or a training officer, each evening, accompanied by a specialist doctor and / or a training officer, by visiting the patients in the service.

In our service, the dialysis program is created by making the preparations of the patients who will be included in the permanent hemodialysis program. At the same time, kidney transplantation is made from live and cadaver donors by preparing renal transplantation. The follow-up of patients after transplantation takes place in our service.

In our clinic, interventional procedures such as temporary hemodialysis catheter, peritoneal catheter insertion, and kidney biopsy are performed with ultrasonography. All enterprises are recorded in the registry of the enterprise. The patients and their relatives who are evaluated by our clinic doctors are given information about the procedures and complications to be performed. Interventional procedures are carried out with the education supervisor and specialist doctors, and the sub-branch assistants are also accompanied by the process.

Clinical Training Program:

* Our nephrology training hours are held in the training room two days a week (Monday-Thursday) between 12: 00-13: 30.

* Educational cases deemed appropriate by the education supervisor are prepared and discussed in the form of a seminar on other days of the week, especially contributing to the training of assistant doctors. We have practices and studies that are clinically similar or exemplary to other clinics.

* Teamwork, discipline and work motivation are very important in our clinic.

* Patients with kidney transplantation, peritoneal dialysis and glomerulonephritis are also followed up in our private branch outpatient clinic.

* Since we have USG in our clinic, we can perform ultrasonographic examinations for all our patients. In addition, we have minimized complication rates due to the effective use of USG in kidney biopsy and catheter insertion.

* Nephrology minor branch assistant training, hemodialysis doctor and nurse trainee training, peritoneal dialysis nurse trainee training are provided in our clinic.

Opportunities / advantages we have clinically:

* Due to the sufficient number of beds, we have the opportunity to examine all cases by investing, our patients are mostly not victimized and their diagnosis is not delayed.

* Having USG device in our service increases our education quality and reduces complication rates.

* Since our hospital has an apheresis department, we do not have to refer our patients who need plasmapheresis.

* Being the center where over 300 transplantation patients are actively followed, especially adds a different vision to the minor assistants.
