Year of foundation

In 1964, Ankara S.S.K. Radiology Clinic was put into service in 1965 immediately after the establishment of Dışkapı Hospital. Under the Clinic Chief Dr.  Bülent Önderol management , patients are served in the conventional X-ray field and Radiology Specialization Training has been started. In 1976, Radiology Specialization Training, was interrupted for a while with the departure of Bülent Önderol,  But started again between 1988-1989. as  Dr. Sedat Işık started to work as a chef. In 1991, Professor. Dr. Baki Hekimoğlu started  as the chief of clinic the education continued and all radiological modalities were included in our clinic in parallel with the developments in radiology.

Although our clinic is one of Turkey's largest educational research hospitals in terms of patient services and education it has to give quite a good position today is striving to reach a better future. As of the establishment date, it has a trained and experienced staff consisting of doctors, technicians, nurses and assistants. There are 28 experts and 14 assistants in our department. There are 4 Professors and 7 Associate Professors in the academic staff in our clinic. In our clinic, 9 education assistants, 16 experts and 14 assistants work. In addition, 63 radiology technicians, 2 civil servants, 5 nurses, 7 reporter, 6 servants and 7 secretaries work.

Today, all of the radiological examination and treatment methods in the field of radiology can be performed by our clinic. In addition to conventional and sonographic applications, new applications related to vascular and non-vascular interventional examinations, MR and CT are carried out by our clinic, and scientific publications and studies are carried out in all fields of radiology in domestic and international journals.

Our clinic work flow:

Our clinic is opened for cleaning at 7 o'clock and cleaning is completed until 8 at the latest. Our clinic is working with the appointment system and patients apply to the relevant department secretariat and receive the necessary information and appointment for the examination. Conventional radiographs are taken immediately after the patient application. USG and Doppler examinations are scheduled for a maximum of 2 days. MRI examinations are made at the latest after 4 days, CT examinations at the latest after 2 days, Mammography routine examinations (although the patients with suspicion of mass are performed immediately), appointments are made immediately after the patient preparations are completed in the DSA unit. Appointment times are extended from time to time due to the malfunction of the devices and serving patients from other hospitals outside our clinic and according to the malfunction of the devices. Emergency patients are given priority to patients who are fond, children and people from the countryside. The first appointment is given to 08.15 in our clinic. Computerized tomography with 16 and 128 sections and emergency USG and emergency x-ray provide uninterrupted service for 24 hours. The patients are examined in the relevant unit according to the appointment time. Patients are informed about the procedure to be performed, and informed consent is obtained for procedures using interventional-contrast agent. In USG, Doppler USG, patients' reports are provided immediately after the shooting. In other units, reports are given within 48 hours at the latest. In addition, all recordable images of the patients are uploaded and archived to the PACS system immediately after shooting. After the patient reports are written, they are recorded in the hospital operating system digitally.

Our Academic Studies and Projects

There are approximately 50 articles and case reports in SCI / SCI-E journals published in 2014-2019 from the studies conducted in our clinic.

Each year, approximately 1-2 oral papers and 10-15 posters attend the radiology congresses abroad. In addition, every year, congresses in the field of domestic Radiology are attended by 3- 5 oral presentations and 40-50 posters. Every year, in-service training continues with a sufficient number of experts and assistants to the National Radiology Congress, Interventional Radiology Congress, MRI Congress, Multislice CT and Breast Imaging Symposiums, and innovations in our field are followed by our clinic.

The opportunities / advantages we have clinically

- We are considered as reference hospital by all our units.

- The high patient density and diversity of our hospital provides an important advantage in terms of education.

- PACS system provides benefits in education and broadcasting. For the patient, it provides benefits in terms of follow-up and treatment.
